Experience
I have been a Consultant Psychiatrist since October 1985, with dual accreditation as a Consultant Psychiatrist and a Consultant Psychotherapist. Between 1985 and 1990 I worked at the Roundway Hospital, Devizes. Between 1990 and 1995 I worked at Southmead Hospital Bristol. Since 1993 I have worked part time in private practice and since 1995 I have worked full time in private practice. My work involves assessing and treating patients with a wide range of conditions, in particular those suffering from anxiety disorders, mood disorders including depression, personality disorder,chronic pain , post-traumatic stress disorder, somatisation disorder and alcohol dependence. I have special expertise in treating medical colleagues with mental illness.
My qualifications are Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery, Diploma in Psychotherapy, Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. I am recognised under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act. Over the past 10 years I have supervised medical practitioners for the General Medical Council. I am an Honorary Clinical Tutor at the University of Bristol.
My estimated ratio of Defendant/Plaintiff/Joint reports is 40:30:30.
